Dr. David J. Shulkin served as the 9th U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs, appointed by President Trump and confirmed by the Senate in 2017, after serving as VA Under Secretary for Health. He led the nation’s largest integrated healthcare system, with over 1,700 sites of care for nine million veterans. Prior to public service, he was CEO of Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, President of Morristown Medical Center, and held senior roles at the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University hospitals.
